If I had to use one word to describe Patrick Toussaint (or PT, which I have just now decided to start calling him), it would be
youngry: a young and talented individual who is hungry for success and will not stop until he accomplishes his goals. Between clothing collaborations, constant mixtape releases (look for two to drop this month) and non-stop event and promotional appearances, PT is always on the grind, looking to take his projects to the next level.
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, PT has a smooth and versatile flow which he uses to deliver entertaining and catchy lyrics. A perfect example of this can be seen in the track You Look So Good. In it, his suave verses compliment the laid back RnB feel of the phaser-effected beat. The song is a good introduction to the type of vibe and direction PT is exploring with his new album, which incorporates some RnB flava with many hooks being performed by singers. When I was treated to a private listening of said tracks, the RnB focus was refreshing, particularly at a time when popular music has shifted to a more electro-pop palette.
