Parallel Universes Rush In Of Montreal's Evolving Sound
Being an avid Of Montreal fan, more and more evolution of this once twee pop sounding band hailing from Athens, Ga seems to be emerging. With the promotion of the album, Paralytic Stalks, Kevin Barnes and his clan never fail to deliver phenomenal performances in concerts. Previously donning new themes with the overall newness of each album, Of Montreal redefines what it means to reinvent themselves, as a group, some might say even as an entity. With the new rush of sound that Paralytic Stalks has, the overall mood of the album swings back and forth between universal proclamations to acoustic, airy vocals by Barnes’ reflecting in a light, almost to be compared to the late Elliot Smith and fusion of old school, Of Montreal –Cherry Peel days when their sound was more acoustic filled and organic. Regardless of their shift in sound, they just made an announcement that they will be performing at The Stage, November 28th in Miami, FL. Although, they have been known to hail adoration and gratitude for their Georgia fans, where the band hails from, if you like to go to a variety of concerts’ on a band’s tour, to refuel your fandom, looks like Miami, FL will be bringing the party with the crazy entity, that is all Of Montreal.
