Welcome to the BoNE Show

Last night I headed over to Boston University's 808 Gallery to attend the opening of the AIGA Best of New England (BoNE) Show, a biennial design competition and celebration of New England design. What a show it was! Designers from all levels (undergraduate, graduate and professional) submitted their best “wicked” problem solving for a chance to be featured in this prestigious, nationally recognized competition...

Being a graphic designer myself, I was really excited for this event. Not even the thunder, lightning and torrential downpours we had could dampen my spirits (although they did prove quite inconvenient for travel and cute footwear). The event had a great turnout nonetheless, which was so nice to see! The below photo is actually from earlier in the night, before the rest of the crowd arrived.

In addition to the show, there was also food, fun, entertainment and a silent auction (which I definitely took advantage of). I ended up taking home a Public Theater series poster designed by the infamous Paula Scher of Pentagram (www.pentagram.com). Can’t wait to frame and hang it.

All in all I had a fabulous time and look forward to attending again for their tenth anniversary in 2013. Plenty of time until then! Next up? The MFA Summer Party tomorrow night (www.mfa.org/programs/special-event/summer-party). Can’t wait! Expect lots of tweeting while we are there.
